Overview
Welcome to our practice. and here's what to expect at your initial hygiene appointment.
Prior to your arrival, we ask that you please print out and complete the patient questionnaire, medical history and insurance forms prior to your arrival. These forms are important---they help determine the course of your treatment. We have to know about allergies, sensitivity to anesthetics, long term medications--your whole health picture. We also ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early for your appointment. This will allow us to enter your information into the computer so that you can be seen at your scheduled time.
We will need about an hour to examine your teeth, gums, jaw alignment, and soft tissues. The exam will also include a blood pressure check and oral cancer screening. We will take a series of radiographs to diagnose cavities, abscesses, or other dental pathology that needs treatment.
Preventive dentistry is our goal for every patient. It involves the daily care, good nutrition, and periodic check-ups and cleanings that maintain good dental health already achieved. Preventive dentistry may not be where we start with every patient, but it's where we like to finish.
Restorative dentistry is basic repair of the mouth. We mend broken or leaking fillings, build crown and bridges, fit partial and full dentures, realign your bite. Where necessary, gum disease is treated, or root canal therapy recommended. The prevailing belief of restorative dentistry is a simple one: you can keep all your teeth for all of your life.
We provide any and all of these services, depending on your health needs. Again, welcome We look forward to meeting you.
